The invention relates to a sponge city intercepting type rainwater overflow well. The sponge city intercepting type rainwater overflow well aims at solving the problems that an existing overflow well is insufficient in filtering, impurities are difficult to discharge, and downstream water is polluted. The sponge city intercepting type rainwater overflow well comprises a horizontally-arranged well foundation, a well wall arranged above the well foundation, a well base arranged above the well wall and a well lid arranged above the well base, and a well cavity is formed in the inner side of the well wall; the well foundation is provided with a check gate arranged on the inner side of the well wall; the lower end of the check gate is connected with the well foundation; the two side edges of the check gate are connected with the well wall; the lower part of the well cavity is divided into a closure cavity and an overflow cavity by the check gate; the well wall is provided with an inflow port and a closure port which communicate with the closure cavity; the well wall is provided with an overflow port communicating with the overflow cavity; an overflow filter screen and a backflow filter screen are arranged in the well cavity; the overflow filter screen covers the upper end of the closure cavity, and the backflow filter screen covers the upper end of the well cavity and is arranged above the overflow filter screen; and the backflow filter screen is in a funnel shape with an upward opening, the bottom of the backflow filter screen is open, a vertical pipe extending downwards is connected to the bottom opening, and the lower end of the vertical pipe penetrates through the overflow filter screen.
