The invention relates to the field of diatom and ceramic products, in particular to a diatom porcelain product with strong water absorption performance and a preparation method thereof. The diatom porcelain product is characterized by comprising a green body, a transparent glaze, a texture glaze and moisture-absorption color-changing films, wherein light holes penetrating through the interior and exterior of the green body are distributed in the upper half portion of the green body, the inner surface of the green body is covered with the transparent glaze, the moisture-absorbing color-changing films cover the inner walls of the light-transmitting holes, the transparent glaze fills in space between the moisture-absorbing color-changing films, and the texture glaze covers the lower half part of the green body. External light enters the light-transmitting holes and is projected into the green body through the transparent glaze in the light-transmitting holes and the green body, so the interior of the green body presents fluorescent ripples, and a unique aesthetic effect is achieved; the lower half part of the green body is coated with decorative soil and ferric oxide, and then the texture glaze is applied, so the surface of the green body presents flowing texture, darkness and ore longitudinal stripe texture and has unique dynamic aesthetic feeling, salt and wood ash are sprayed in the glaze firing process, and the glaze surface has volcanic veins similar to charcoal firing.
