The invention relates to a dismantling method of an outer wall of an existing building. The dismantling method of the outer wall of the existing building comprises the following steps that a traction device close to the outer wall to be dismantled is fixedly installed on a floor of the existing building; the traction device is connected with the outer wall to be dismantled, and the outer wall to be dismantled is tensioned towards the inner side of the existing building through the traction device; tie bars on the side part of the outer wall to be dismantled are cut off; and the outer wall to be dismantled is pulled towards the inner side of the existing building through the traction device, so that the outer wall to be dismantled topples towards the inner side of the existing building, and therefore dismantling of the outer wall is completed. According to the dismantling method of the outer wall of the existing building, the traction device is adopted to pull down the outer wall towards the inner side, construction is easy and convenient, and cost is saved; in the dismantling process, inward prestress is applied to the outer wall through the traction device, so that it can be guaranteed that the outer wall cannot topple outwards in the outer wall cutting operation process, and the construction safety is improved; the traction device conducts traction operation, so that the safety problem that constructors are too close to the outer wall to be dismantled can be solved.
