The invention discloses a self-advancing road cone working system and an operation method thereof. The self-advancing road cone working system comprises intelligent advancing road cones, a recycling bin, a Zigbee communication network, an infrared geminate transistor monitoring array, a road cone advancing line and a control terminal, wherein the recycling bin is used for recycling, storing and charging all the intelligent advancing road cones; the Zigbee communication network is used for providing a wireless network in a tunnel and realizing real-time communication of components in the system; the infrared geminate transistor monitoring array is symmetrically arranged on two sides of a tunnel road and is used for monitoring whether an accident occurs in the tunnel or not, positioning the accident position and transmitting monitored data to the control terminal through the Zigbee communication network; the control terminal is in communication connection with the intelligent advancing road cones through the Zigbee communication network and remotely controls the actions of the intelligent advancing road cones; and the road cone advancing line is used for providing a route for automatic driving of the intelligent advancing road cones, and one end of the road cone advancing line is located in the recycling bin.
