The novel portable tent comprises a plurality of supporting assemblies connected with tent cloth and a middle shaft driving part used for being connected with the multiple supporting assemblies in a surrounding mode and driving the multiple supporting assemblies to be unfolded. The middle shaft driving part comprises a telescopic assembly movably connected with the multiple supporting assemblies and a transmission assembly for driving the telescopic assembly to stretch out and draw back to drive the multiple supporting assemblies to be opened or closed. When the novel portable tent is used, the telescopic assembly is vertically perpendicular to the ground, the end, provided with the transmission assembly, of the telescopic assembly is higher than the ground, the transmission assembly is started to enable the telescopic assembly to contract, so that the multiple supporting assemblies are unfolded, the tent is rapidly supported, use is convenient and rapid, and a place for sheltering from rain can be quickly provided in sudden rainy days.
