OPERATING HANDLE WITH ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM
An operating handle (4) for fastening to the exterior of a door (2) has an access control system for controlling a motor-driven lock, said system comprising an evaluation unit and a read unit (8) for reading and identifying a transponder which is situated in a first sensing region (12) defined by the read unit (8). The read unit (8) is integrated into the operating handle (4). Also provided is a sensor (10), which is coupled to the evaluation unit and integrated into the operating handle (4), for sensing an object that is situated in a second sensing region (14) defined by the sensor (10). The sensor (10) is provided on a first portion (16) of the operating handle (4) and the second sensing region (14) extends outwards from the first portion (16). The evaluation unit is designed, after identifying a transponder, to activate the sensor (10) in order to sense an object in the second sensing region (14).
