The invention relates to an operating handle (10, 210), primarily to actuate an espagnolette mechanism for securing or locking a hinged window panel. The operating handle has a mounting part (12; 112; 212) and a handle part (14; 114; 214), the mounting part being adapted for surface mounting to the panel. The handle part is movable relative to the mounting part between a storage position and an operating position, and in the operating position is rotatable relative to the mounting part. The invention also provides a modified drive element and an adjustable handing element to convert the operating handle from clockwise to anticlockwise movement.
