The invention relates to a light high-strength calcium silicate board for coating/laminating and a preparation method thereof, the calcium silicate board comprises the following raw material components by weight: 22%-33% of a siliceous material, 20%-30% of a calcareous material, 8%-30% of cement, 8%-20% of calcium silicate crystals, 5%-15% of fiber pulp, 3%-10% of an inorganic filler and 2%-6% of a board inorganic auxiliary agent; the preparation method comprises the following steps: adding water into all the raw material components, uniformly mixing, then preparing a light calcium silicate board blank through a beater-addition process, then curing, then carrying out an autoclaved reaction to obtain a light calcium silicate board semi-finished product, then drying the moisture to be below 10wt%, and then sanding and trimming to obtain a light high-strength calcium silicate board finished product. The calcium silicate board provided by the invention is a high-quality board which is low in density, high in strength, good in dimensional stability, high in internal bonding strength and excellent in fireproof performance, the density of the calcium silicate board is 0.6-1.0 g/cm < 3 >, the breaking strength of the calcium silicate board is 10 MPa or above, the internal bonding strength of the calcium silicate board is 1.6 MPa or above, and the technological requirements of coating, film covering and the like are met.
