The invention discloses a covering method for a transverse road intersection. The method comprises the steps of S1 measuring the elevation of a crossed old road plane, and setting the laying of a covering layer according to different conditions of difference values between the design elevation and the original pavement elevation; and S2 before an asphalt mixture is additionally laid on an original pavement or a milled pavement, when an underlying layer is made of the asphalt mixture, spraying emulsified asphalt tack coat oil firstly; and when the underlying layer is a base layer, spraying emulsified asphalt prime coat oil firstly after the underlying layer is cleaned up. The method is wide in application range and high in practicability; new and old pavements are in smooth lap joint transition, so that the driving comfort is effectively guaranteed; lap joint positions are arranged in a staggered manner, the joint stress is uniformly dispersed, and the durability is greatly improved; and the traditional large-area milling or crushing reconstruction process is effectively solved, the investment of personnel, machinery and materials is reduced, and the economical efficiency is greatly improved.
