The system comprises a monitoring mechanism, a processing control mechanism and a warning mechanism, the monitoring mechanism comprises a plurality of transmitting assemblies arranged in the side wall of the foundation pit and a plurality of receiving assemblies arranged above the foundation pit, and the plurality of transmitting assemblies and the plurality of receiving assemblies are in one-to-one correspondence; the processing control mechanism is in communication connection with the receiving assemblies and is used for acquiring monitoring results acquired by the receiving assemblies; and the warning mechanism is in communication connection with the processing control mechanism and is used for giving out a warning. The system and method have the effect of improving the accuracy of the monitoring system for the foundation pit.
