The self-expanding anchor rod comprises a rod body and a self-expanding anchor pulling device, wherein the self-expanding anchor pulling device comprises a connecting rod, a wedge-shaped anchor head and a spring, one end of the connecting rod is connected to the rod body, the other end of the connecting rod is connected to the wedge-shaped anchor head, the spring is arranged between the connecting rod and the wedge-shaped anchor head, the spring can help the anchor pulling device in achieving the self-expanding effect and avoid the situation that the original anchoring force capable of being provided is lost due to the fact that the included angle is too large as well, the protection effect is achieved, the wedge-shaped anchor head can be inserted into soil under the action of the spring, and a grouting hole and a grout outlet hole are formed in the wedge-shaped anchor head; and the invention further discloses a construction method of the self-expanding anchor rod.
