The embodiment of the invention provides a construction method for a drainage system of a dumping site outside a strip mine, and relates to the technical field of water and soil conservation of dumping sites outside strip mines. The construction method aims to solve the problem that a drainage open trench is easy to break. The construction method comprises the steps that a pipe hole (130) is constructed below a flat plate (110) and a side slope (120), one end of the pipe hole (130) penetrates through the flat plate (110), and the other end of the pipe hole (130) penetrates through the side slope (120); a drainage concealed pipe (140) is arranged in the pipe hole (130) in a penetrating manner; and a first stilling pool (1501) is arranged near a first end (1401) of the drainage concealed pipe (140), a second stilling pool (1502) is arranged near a second end (1402) of the drainage concealed pipe (140), the first end (1401) of the drainage concealed pipe (140) extends into the first stilling pool (1501), and the second end (1402) of the drainage concealed pipe (140) extends into the second stilling pool (1502). The method is used for improving the water and soil conservation capacity of the dumping site outside the strip mine.
