The invention discloses a soil dressing spray-seeding base material and a preparation method thereof. The spray-seeding base material per square meter is prepared from the following components by mass: 0.5 to 0.8 kg of wood fiber, 0.015 to 0.018 kg of a water-retaining agent, 0.01 to 0.013 kg of a clay agent, 9.8 kg of fine-grained soil, 0.035 to 0.04 kg of compound fertilizer and 1 to 2 kg of fine and short straw husk. The moisture-retention dust suppressant and the silane coupling agent-sepiolite-cyclodextrin modified polyurethane are introduced into the spray-seeding base material, so that the water retention capacity and the water holding capacity of the spray-seeding base material can be improved, and the strength of the spray-seeding base material after solidification can be improved.
