The invention discloses a preparation method of a light high-strength building brick. The preparation method comprises the following steps: drying foundation sludge for 1-2 hours at the drying temperature of 80-100 DEG C, adding light corundum, light calcined magnesia and calcined alumina micro powder, uniformly mixing, and then uniformly grinding at the pressure of 15-25 kPa to obtain a sludge compound; adding carboxymethyl cellulose and sodium tripolyphosphate into water, uniformly mixing, adding the sludge compound, uniformly stirring, adding a foaming agent in a stirring state, and uniformly stirring to obtain a castable; and uniformly casting the castable, drying and sintering to obtain the light high-strength building brick. The sintering method comprises the following specific operation steps: heating a green body obtained by baking from normal temperature to 300-400 DEG C, preserving heat for t1 hour, cooling to 200-250 DEG C, and preserving heat for t2 hours; then heating to 1200-1300 DEG C, performing heat preservation for t3 h, cooling to 900-1000 DEG C, and performing heat preservation for t4 h; and continously heating to 1400-1450 DEG C, and performing heat preservation for t5 h.
