A high-strength light-weight insulating brick is applied to an insulating lining of a dynamic kiln such as a rotary kiln, and comprises the following raw material components: floating beads, sinking beads, clay, pyrophyllite, silica fume and a dextrin powder binding agent, and the density of a brick body is controlled by assembling the high-temperature floating beads and the sinking beads, especially regulating and controlling the amount of the high-temperature floating beads. The strength of the insulating brick is adjusted according to the amounts of the clay and the pyrophyllite, especially the pyrophyllite, so that the brick body achieves high-strength and light-weight performance, the stability of a furnace lining foundation is improved, and insulating and energy-saving requirements are met.
