The invention relates to the technical field of bridge engineering, in particular to a cable releasing device for a bridge stay cable and a using method of the cable releasing device. An arc-shaped supporting plate is fixedly arranged on a movable rack and used for placing the stay cable, and a pipe clamp is arranged on the arc-shaped supporting plate; the pipe clamp can be matched with the arc-shaped supporting plate to position the stay cable on the arc-shaped supporting plate, one end of the pipe clamp is hinged to the arc-shaped supporting plate, the other end of the pipe clamp is detachably connected with the arc-shaped supporting plate, and an anti-skid layer is arranged between the arc-shaped supporting plate and the stay cable. When the stay cable is released, the middle overhanging part of the stay cable is placed on the arc-shaped supporting plate of the cable releasing device, the stay cable does not make direct contact with the bridge floor, and therefore the outer protective sleeve of the stay cable can be protected against damage. The cable releasing device is firm, durable, simple in structure, convenient to manufacture, easy to operate, safe and reliable to use, capable of protecting the outer protective sleeve of the stay cable from being damaged and capable of being used repeatedly, construction efficiency is improved, and construction cost is reduced.
