The invention discloses a preparation method of powder used for plasma spraying. The ceramic powder is obtained by modifying BaZrxTi1-xO3 with a metal hafnium-gallium oxide matrix, wherein 0.1<=x<=0.4. The preparation method of the ceramic powder comprises the steps that metal hafnium-gallium oxide and the BaZrxTi1-xO3 are mixed to obtain mixed powder; and the mixed powder is dried and sintered. The prepared ceramic powder has good flowability, dispersity, wear resistance, sinterability and high-temperature oxidation resistance.
