The tamping device comprises a top plate; a tamping hammer is arranged under the top plate; the tamping hammer is fixedly connected with the bottom of the top plate through a telescopic column; side plates are fixedly arranged at the bottoms of the two sides of the top plate; clamping strips are arranged between the side plates and the tamping hammer; the clamping strips are connected with transverse electric push rods arranged on the side plates; the clamping strips are connected with longitudinal electric push rods arranged at the bottom of the top plate; clamping grooves matched with the clamping strips are formed in the outer sides of the tamping hammer in a surrounding mode; a plurality of magnetic counterweight grooves distributed in a longitudinal array mode are formed in the lower end of the tamping hammer in a surrounding mode; two bilaterally symmetrical magnetic counterweight strips are arranged in each magnetic counterweight groove in an adsorption mode; and each side plate is an L-shaped plate, the lower end of the side plate is horizontally arranged outwards, a counterweight box is fixedly arranged at the horizontal end of each side plate, and a counterweight block is arranged in each counterweight box.
