The invention relates to a steel structure building stair system and a construction method thereof. The steel structure building stair system comprises a prefabricated stair and cross beams arranged at the upper end and the lower end of the prefabricated stair; each cross beam comprises an upper supporting plate, a lower supporting plate and a partition plate vertically arranged between the upper supporting plate and the lower supporting plate; the width of the upper supporting plates is larger than the width of the lower supporting plates; a plurality of notches are formed in the upper supporting plates and the lower supporting plates; connecting plates are arranged on the side walls of the partition plates; and the upper ends and the lower ends of the connecting plates are connected with the upper supporting plates and the lower supporting plates respectively. The steel structure building stair system has the effects of reducing material waste of the cross beams and reducing the weight of a building.
