The invention provides middle tower transverse supporting equipment and a construction method. A first middle tower arm is installed on one side of a suspension bridge, and a second middle tower arm is installed on the other side of the suspension bridge; a lower-layer embedded part is mounted at a first preset position between the first middle tower arm and the second middle tower arm; a first bracket assembly is installed on the lower-layer embedded part; a middle-layer embedded part is mounted at a second preset position between the first middle tower arm and the second middle tower arm; a second bracket assembly is installed on the middle-layer embedded part; an upper-layer embedded part is installed at a third preset position between the first middle tower arm and the second middle tower arm; a third bracket assembly is installed on the upper-layer embedded part; and a reinforcing cross beam is arranged between the first middle tower arm and the second middle tower arm. According to the technical scheme, the first middle tower arm and the second middle tower arm are reinforced, and structural damage caused by the fact that the bending moment generated by overweight of a middle tower arm column exceeds the bending resistance of the root of the middle tower arm is prevented.
