The invention provides an electric door opening mechanism for an automobile side door. The electric door opening mechanism comprises a mounting shell, an actuating rod and a driving assembly, the actuating rod penetrates through the mounting shell, the actuating rod is perpendicular to the mounting shell, and the mounting shell is in sliding fit with the actuating rod; and the driving assembly is arranged in the mounting shell and used for driving the actuating rod to do linear reciprocating motion in the length direction of the actuating rod. The actuating rod vertically penetrates through the mounting shell, the driving assembly is arranged in the mounting shell, a first bevel gear and a second bevel gear are matched to drive the actuating rod to do linear motion, by means of the layout that the mounting shell and the actuating rod are perpendicular to each other, the space structure of the door opening mechanism can be optimized, therefore the space utilization rate can be increased, the structure is simple, and the work is stable.
