The invention discloses a preparation method of an efficient and stable gypsum retarder, the gypsum retarder is obtained by a synthetic reaction of benzene-containing anhydride and an amine substance under the action of a basic catalyst, the retarder obtained by the preparation method is used for a gypsum product, the setting time of gypsum can be effectively prolonged, and compared with other types of gypsum retarders, the gypsum retarder has remarkable low-doping and high-efficiency performance, the retarding time is stable, continuous and controllable to adjust, the retarder has a remarkable low-doping-amount effect, the curve of the retarding time rising along with the increase of the doping amount is stable and continuous, and the problems that most of retarders are low in doping and low in efficiency and easy to be excessive in high doping at present are perfectly solved; and the synthetic process is an organic synthesis process carried out at high temperature and high pressure under the protection of inert gas, so that the stability and adaptability of the gypsum retarder under different conditions are greatly improved, and the synthetic process can be widely applied to the adjustment of the setting time of different gypsum or different gypsum products.
