The invention discloses a remote control system and method for an underground scraper. The system comprises a security management and control module, a vehicle control module, an information transmission module and a data acquisition module, wherein the data acquisition module is used for acquiring a camera acquisition view field loaded on a scraper body and monitoring and detecting the outline of a mine tunnel contour by a radar; the information transmission module is used for receiving information of the data acquisition module through a 5G network module, transmitting the information to the security management and control module and ensuring real-time communication connection between the security management and control module and the vehicle control module; the vehicle control module is used for receiving a judgment signal transmitted by the information transmission module and making operation and driving decisions of the scraper according to conditions; and the security management and control module is used for performing security management and control calculation by using the data of the data acquisition module, verifying and detecting the real-time performance of communication through real-time communication with the information transmission module, and performing closed operation on a remote operation area by using a grating.
