The invention discloses a water purification type revetment for hard embankment transformation. The water purification type revetment comprises gabion stone cages, water-permeable U-shaped grooves, broken stones, mixed planting soil and aquatic plants; the gabion stone cages are vertically placed or placed in a stepped mode according to the shape of an original revetment; the broken stones are laid in gaps between the gabion stone cages and the original revetment; the water-permeable U-shaped grooves are located in the positions, close to the revetment, of the tops of the gabion stone cages; the water-permeable U-shaped grooves are connected with one another and filled with the mixed planting soil; and the aquatic plants are planted in the water-permeable U-shaped grooves. The water purification type revetment is high in applicability and environmental benefit, low in cost, free of influence on normal flood draining of a river channel, good in river biodiversity improving effect and convenient to apply and popularize on a large scale.
