The invention relates to an automatic following anti-falling protection device and a safety monitoring system. The anti-falling protection device comprises a protection clamp; a control panel, a battery pack, a driving motor, a walking wheel set and a photographing module are arranged on the protective clamp; the battery pack supplies power to the control panel; the driving motor is used for driving the walking wheel set to rotate, so as to move the protection clamp; and a processor unit and a driving circuit are arranged on the control panel. According to the anti-falling protection device, the walking wheel set is arranged on the protection clamp, so that the protection clamp can move in the horizontal direction easily, and the safety risk of constructors caused by resistance between the protection clamp and a steel pipe is avoided; and through automatic control of the processor unit and the driving motor, the walking wheel set is driven to automatically follow the constructors, the operation that the constructors frequently pull the protection clamp is avoided, and therefore the working efficiency is improved, and the safety risk is reduced.
