The method comprises the steps of obtaining images, collected by a camera, of passengers in a vehicle and pressure borne by vehicle seats and detected by a pressure sensor; if it is determined that the passenger includes the child based on the image, determining a first riding position of the child in the vehicle according to the pressure borne by the vehicle seat; and starting a safe riding mode of the area where the first riding position is located. According to the vehicle control method, the riding safety of children can be improved.
