The invention discloses a sand blocking device for water and soil conservation based on a water conservancy project. The sand blocking device comprises a bottom plate; the bottom plate is fixedly connected with the ground through a fixing cone, and the two sides of the middle of the upper surface of the bottom plate are rotationally connected with a blocking mechanism through shaft seats; a supporting mechanism used for supporting the blocking mechanism is arranged between the back of the blocking mechanism and the upper surface of the bottom plate; and a limiting plate fixedly connected with the upper surface of the bottom plate is arranged on the front side of the blocking mechanism. According to the device, the height of an extension plate is lower than that of the limiting plate; so that silt overflowing the limiting plate can cover the upper surface of the extension plate, downward pressure is generated on the extension plate, the extension plate drives a fixing frame to incline forwards, the silt is blocked, the fixing frame inclines forwards through the extension plate, and a stable triangular structure is formed between the fixing frame and the bottom plate, and therefore, the strength of the fixing frame is greatly enhanced.
