The construction method comprises the steps that foundations are symmetrically constructed on the two sides of an existing building, and shear walls are constructed on the foundations; connecting beams are constructed between the corresponding shear walls, and the connecting beams are suspended above the existing building; a girder is constructed perpendicular to the connecting beams, and the multiple connecting beams are connected into a whole through the girder. During construction, the wall surface of the existing building cannot be damaged, and the existing building can be covered with multiple layers; the method is beneficial to seismic resistance, has small influence on lighting of the existing building, and is simple in construction method and short in construction period.
