The invention provides a magnesium silicate cementing material and a preparation method and application thereof.The preparation method comprises the steps that mixing raw materials containing serpentine minerals and first auxiliary materials according to a first preset mass ratio, obtaining a first powder particle body after pretreatment, wherein the first auxiliary materials are at least one of carbonate minerals and carbonate mineral tailings, the first preset mass ratio comprises the condition that the amount of the first auxiliary material is 0; calcining the first powder particle body to obtain a second powder particle body of which the main crystal phase is olivine; mixing the second powder particle body and a second auxiliary material according to a second preset mass ratio, so that the magnesium silicate cementing material is obtained after grinding, wherein the second auxiliary material is at least one of lime, carbonate cement clinker, carbide slag, gypsum and water glass powder; the second preset mass ratio comprises the condition that the amount of the second auxiliary material is 0. The magnesium silicate cementing material powder has gelling property after being mixed with water, a formed body is cured into a stone-like body after being cured, and the stone-like body is high in strength, good in stability, free of expansion after absorbing water, free of frost returning and high in durability.
