The invention discloses an excavator potential energy recovery control method which comprises: when it is detected that an excavator movable arm is in a descending working state, determining an excavator energy consumption function according to motor power generation energy of an excavator, hydraulic energy accumulator charging energy and main pump energy consumption; calculating an optimal working point of the energy consumption function of the excavator through a minimum weighted deviation method; wherein the optimal working point comprises the initial working pressure of the hydraulic energy accumulator under the lowest energy consumption scene, the initial working volume of the hydraulic energy accumulator, the displacement of a recovery motor and the braking torque of the motor; and recycling the potential energy of the movable arm of the excavator according to the optimal working point. Efficient recovery of the potential energy of the excavator can be achieved, and maximization of the recovery rate of the potential energy recovery system is guaranteed. The invention further discloses an excavator potential energy recovery control system, an excavator and a storage medium which have the above beneficial effects.
