The invention provides a masonry wall mortar laying device and a mortar laying construction method. The masonry wall mortar laying device comprises a mortar containing hopper, the mortar containing hopper comprises two first baffles, tenon connecting pieces and mortise connecting pieces, wherein the two ends of each first baffle are perpendicularly turned over towards one side to form two break angles, the tenon connecting piece and the mortise connecting piece are arranged at the external corners of the two break angles respectively, internal corners of the break angles are oppositely connected by the two first baffles to form peripheral walls of the mortar containing hopper in a surrounding manner, and the peripheral walls are connected and fixed through the tenon connecting pieces and the mortise connecting pieces; and two clamping plates used for clamping the two sides of a masonry wall building block are further involved, the two clamping plates are connected with the bottom edges of the first baffles, the clamping plates are gradually shrunk from top to bottom to be in a wedge shape, and the two clamping plates and the bottom of the mortar containing hopper define a mortar outlet space of the mortar containing hopper. According to the masonry wall mortar laying device, the construction process and procedure in which a worker directly lays mortar on building blocks of a brick wall are simplified, construction is convenient, and furthermore, the requirement for joint beautifying of inward contraction of mortar joints can be met.
