The invention discloses a reaction kettle and a preparation method of a silicon dioxide aerogel heat insulation composite material, wherein the preparation method comprises the following steps: providing the reaction kettle, wherein the reaction kettle comprises a kettle body and a plurality of ultrasonic device groups, the kettle body is provided with a reaction cavity, the plurality of ultrasonic device groups are arranged on the side wall of the reaction cavity along the vertical direction, each ultrasonic device group comprises a plurality of ultrasonic transducers, and the plurality of ultrasonic transducers are arranged at intervals along the circumferential direction of the reaction cavity; providing a wet gel composite material subjected to aging treatment; placing the wet gel composite material in the reaction cavity, adding a silsesquioxane solution and an acid solution, and carrying out annular ultrasonic cavitation treatment to enable a liquid in the reaction cavity to be emulsified and react to obtain a modified material; and drying the modified material to obtain the silicon dioxide aerogel heat insulation composite material. The modification speed is high, the quality of the obtained silicon dioxide aerogel heat insulation composite material is good, the consumed solvent amount is greatly reduced, and the production cost is reduced.
