The invention provides an ecological restoration method for a watershed and a comprehensive improvement technology, belonging to the technical field of ecological management of rivers. The ecological restoration method comprises the following steps: A) forming steps on river slopes on the two sides of a watershed of a river, and planting lawns and shrubs; B) planting large-crown trees and lawns on the open land of river banks; C) planting emergent plants and submerged plants in the river; and D) putting fishes in the river for culturing. According to the invention, the steps are dug on the river slopes, and the lawns and the shrubs are planted on the river slopes, so water storage and soil conservation effect is achieved by changing microtopography; the emergent plants and the submerged plants are planted to achieve water quality purification effect through absorption and degradation effects of the emergent plants and the submerged plants on pollutants; the growth and reproduction of aerobic bacteria are promoted by increasing oxygen in a water body, so the purpose of enhancing and accelerating decomposition of organic pollutants in water is achieved; and thus, the ecological environment of the watershed is treated in multiple aspects, the ecological environment of the river can be thoroughly improved, and the method is worthy of being vigorously popularized.
