The invention provides a novel pile foundation joist retaining wall and a construction method thereof. A first pile foundation and a second pile foundation are sequentially arranged on a side slope, a protection area is arranged at the junction of the pile foundations and the side slope, a wedge-shaped joist is arranged at the top of the second pile foundation, a water seepage area is arranged between the wedge-shaped joist and the protection area, and an inserting rod is arranged on the wedge-shaped joist; an inserting hole is formed in the wedge-shaped bottom end of a prefabricated retaining wall, the inserting rod is mounted on the wedge-shaped joist, and supports with bolt holes are arranged at the top end of the first pile foundation and the back slope face of the top of the prefabricated retaining wall; a cross beam is arranged between the first pile foundation and the wedge-shaped joist, and a traveling crane box beam is arranged on the cross beam through a box beam support; and the two ends of a supporting rod are correspondingly fixed to the top end of the first pile foundation and the support on the back slope face of the top of the prefabricated retaining wall through high-strength bolts, an unloading plate is provided with water permeable holes and arranged on the slope facing face of the prefabricated retaining wall, an inverted filter layer is arranged on the slope facing face of the prefabricated retaining wall, and then wall back soil filling is carried out between the inverted filter layer and the side slope.
