The invention relates to a concrete mortar anti-cracking additive and a preparation method thereof. The anti-cracking additive comprises the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 45-55% of fly ash, 8-12% of modified basalt fiber, 3-8% of a high-shrinkage additive, 0.5-0.8% of an air entraining agent, 2-5% of a dispersing agent and the balance of water. The raw materials of the components are easy to obtain, the preparation process is simple, the polyacrylic acid hydrogel is selected as the high-shrinkage additive, and strong interaction is generated between the polyacrylic acid hydrogel and the basalt fibers into which calcium acetate is introduced through modification, so the organization structure of the concrete mortar doped with the additive is strongly shrunk, and the concrete mortar with a high-shrinkage and high-energy-density structure is formed, so that the anti-cracking performance and the application performance of the concrete mortar are greatly improved.
