The invention provides a device for collecting garbage floating on the water surface. The device comprises a base mechanism, a vertical pipe, a collecting mechanism and an inrush flow mechanism, wherein the vertical pipe is vertically fixed to the top end of the base mechanism, the collecting mechanism is arranged at the top end of the vertical pipe, and the inrush flow mechanism is located in the middle of the height of the vertical pipe; the collecting mechanism comprises a supporting seat and a collecting hopper, the supporting seat is fixed to the top end of the vertical pipe, the collecting hopper is located in the supporting seat, the outer surface of the collecting hopper is tightly attached to the inner surface of the supporting seat, and a plurality of water filtering holes are evenly formed in the collecting hopper; the inrush flow mechanism comprises a piston assembly, an isolation plate and a plurality of spraying pipes, and the piston assembly is arranged at the inner bottom of the vertical pipe. According to the device, garbage floating on the water surface is collected in advance, regular and timely fishing operation is not needed, the labor intensity is reduced, and meanwhile, the fishing risk is also reduced; the garbage easy to sink sinks into a material containing shell, the phenomenon of bottom sinking is avoided, and environmental pollution is relieved.
