The invention discloses high-strength argillaceous refractory mortar comprises the following raw material components: clay powder, three-grade alumina raw material powder, hard clay clinker powder, silica powder and an additive. The preparation method comprises the steps of 1, putting the clay powder, the three-grade alumina raw material powder, the hard clay clinker powder and the silica powder which are weighed and proportioned into stirring equipment, and uniformly mixing; 2, adding carboxymethyl cellulose weighed according to the proportion into the stirring equipment in the step 1, and uniformly mixing; and 3, adding 25-35% by mass of instant sodium silicate into the uniformly mixed raw materials in the step 2, adding mixing water, and uniformly stirring. According to the scheme, the problem that argillaceous refractory mortar of a traditional hot-blast stove cannot be sintered to form strength in the using process is solved. By adding a burning promoter, the refractory mortar can be sintered at about 300 DEG C, has better strength in the use process, shows more excellent performance, enhances the overall bonding strength of the refractory material, and ensures the safe operation of a kiln.
