The method comprises the following steps: 1) uniformly mixing modified graphite powder and gypsum powder to obtain premixed powder; (2) adding a liquid-phase medium into the premixed powder and pulping to obtain mixed slurry; (3) carrying out casting molding on the mixed slurry to obtain the graphite modified gypsum-based ecological decorative plate; and 4) sequentially carrying out natural drying and surface treatment on the graphite modified gypsum-based ecological decorative plate to obtain the graphite modified ecological decorative plate. The graphite modified gypsum-based ecological decorative plate provided by the invention can be used as a suspended ceiling and a wall plate, has decorative property, formaldehyde purification ecological property, corrosion resistance and heat storage property, can replace a decorative gypsum plate, a high crystal plate, a calcium silicate plate, a calcium silicate plate and the like, and is widely applied to public buildings and indoor decoration with high indoor air quality.
