The invention discloses a high-strength light-weight building material based on modified gypsum and a preparation method of the high-strength light-weight building material, and particularly relates to the technical field of building materials. The high-strength light-weight building material comprises 65%-85% of water, 10%-30% of quartz sand, 60%-85% of desulfurized gypsum or phosphogypsum, 0.4%-0.5% of gridding cloth, 0.05%-0.1% of a water reducing agent point mother solution or other polycarboxylic acid water reducing agents, 0.03%-0.05% of redispersible latex powder, 0.03%-0.08% of cellulose and 0.05%-0.1% of a high-strength reinforcing agent. The high-strength reinforcing agent is prepared from the following raw materials (in parts by weight): 1% of sodium salt, 3% of baking soda, 5% of alum, 10% of cooked glutinous rice pulp, 5% of alum sand, 5% of borax, 20% of polyvinyl alcohol and 51% of water. According to the invention, the autonomously prepared high-strength reinforcing agent is added, so the prepared partition wall plate has the advantages of no heating, no autoclaving and no calcination; and an added wood preservative easily penetrates through a partition wall strip plate and a building block brick, has lasting corrosion resistance, no influence on the partition wall strip plate and the building block brick, no volatilization and no odor, and can avoid hidden danger to human health.
