The embodiment of the invention provides a support assembly and a photovoltaic building component. The support assembly is applied to a photovoltaic building component, the photovoltaic building component comprises a first roof metal plate and a second roof metal plate, the first roof metal plate comprises a first side edge, the second roof metal plate comprises a second side edge, and the first side edge is used for being locked with the second side edge; the support assembly comprises an edge locking structure and a base. The edge locking structure comprises a fixing plate, the fixing plate comprises a first face and a second face which are opposite, a first edge locking plate is arranged on the first face, a second edge locking plate is arranged on the second face, and the base is movably connected with the first face. Under the condition that the first side edge and the second side edge are locked, the first side edge abuts against the first side edge locking plate, the second side edge abuts against the second side edge locking plate, and therefore the first side edge and the second side edge are locked.
