The invention discloses a welding method for a welding ball and a rod piece, which comprises the following steps of: connecting: inserting the end part of the rod piece into a mounting hole in the surface of the welding ball, and forming an annular gap between the side wall of the end part of the rod piece and the inner wall of the mounting hole; bottoming: welding one end, close to the center of the mounting hole, of the annular gap to form a bottoming welding seam; filling and welding the residual part in the annular gap to form a filling welding seam; and the surface of the filling weld joint continues to be welded to form a surface weld joint, the surface weld joint protrudes out of the surface of the welding ball and extends in the circumferential direction of the rod piece, the whole surface weld joint is of a conical structure, and the diameter of the surface weld joint is gradually increased in the direction from the center of the welding ball to the surface of the welding ball. In this way, according to the welding method, the welding ball and the rod piece are welded through the bottoming part, the filling part and the cover face, the step-by-step welding method enables the welding stress of the welding part to be smaller, the connecting effect is better, and the quality defects of false penetration and slag inclusion of a welding seam are avoided.
