The invention belongs to the technical field of road engineering, and discloses a modified straw fiber and a preparation method thereof, and a fiber asphalt mixture and a preparation method thereof.The method comprises the steps that agricultural straw sections are mechanically crushed, the straw sections are physically crushed into fibers, then the fibers are put into an alkaline solution to be soaked, and the fiber asphalt mixture is obtained; the preparation method comprises the following steps: removing hemicelluloses and lignin in straw fibers to loosen fiber bundles so as to adsorb more asphalt, and finally soaking the straw fibers in a mixed solution of n-heptane and asphalt, so that each fiber is coated with asphalt and disguised into an asphalt body which is better dispersed in an asphalt mixture, and the adhesion and toughness of the straw fibers are improved; therefore, the performance of the fiber asphalt mixture is improved, and a new thought is provided for a straw fiber treatment process for roads.
