The invention discloses a preparation method of an atomizing core matrix and an atomizing core, and the preparation method comprises the following steps: drying diatomite and/or quartz sand, and uniformly mixing the dried diatomite and/or quartz sand with a sintering aid, a binder, a pore forming agent and a forming agent to obtain a premix; mixing and stirring the premix and a solvent to obtain slurry; performing injection molding or compression molding on the slurry to obtain an atomizing core precursor; and the atomization core precursor is placed in a microwave sintering furnace to be sintered, and an atomization core base body is obtained. According to the preparation method, microwaves are coupled with the basic fine structure of the atomization core precursor to generate heat, the atomization core precursor is integrally heated through dielectric loss, the heating rate is increased, the heating time is shortened, the energy consumption is reduced through a low-loss heat preservation technology, and the atomization core precursor is uniformly heated; therefore, the atomizing core base body with a uniform framework and a consistent pore structure is prepared, the oil guide rate of the atomizing core is increased, the core pasting phenomenon is reduced, and better product experience is provided.
