The invention belongs to the technical field of anchor cables, discloses an expanded-head anchor cable construction method for an expansive soil area, and aims to solve the problem that the anchoring force of an anchor cable is reduced due to the fact that the rainwater mechanical property of expansive soil is reduced. The method comprises the following steps: (1) determining the position of each anchor cable; (2) drilling a formed hole to a set elevation; (3) a rotary spraying head of a high-pressure rotary spraying machine is placed at the upper end of the expanded head section, and the high-pressure rotary spraying head conducts chambering through tap water; (4) a rotary spraying head of a high-pressure rotary spraying machine is placed at the bottom of the anchor hole, and chambering is conducted through cement paste; (5) cleaning the hole and placing an anchor cable; and (6) grouting, tensioning and locking to finish the construction of the expanded-head anchor cable. The problem that the anchoring force is reduced due to mechanical property reduction caused by swelling and softening of swelling soil after rainwater is avoided.
