The invention discloses a gear rack type energy consumption bridge support, which can consume kinetic energy of horizontal movement of a main beam relative to a bridge tower through an energy consumption unit while meeting the requirement of supporting the main beam on the bridge tower by utilizing a spherical support body, namely provides damping force for the main beam through an upper support plate. The horizontal displacement between the main beam and the bridge tower is effectively inhibited, and the fatigue damage of the bridge support caused by continuous movement of the main beam relative to the bridge tower can be reduced, so that the service life of the bridge support is prolonged, and the maintenance cost is reduced; moreover, the bridge support is divided into the spherical support body and the energy consumption unit which are independently mounted according to a modular design concept, so that the difficulty of mounting and subsequent maintenance work is reduced, and the maintenance cost is further reduced; moreover, by changing the resistance value of the terminal resistor, the damping force can be conveniently adjusted, and convenience is provided for application of the device in engineering practice.
