The invention belongs to the technical field of waterproof materials, and particularly relates to an inorganic waterproof material and a preparation method thereof, the inorganic waterproof material is prepared from the following raw materials by weight: 70-80 parts of Portland cement, 100-110 parts of fine river sand, 10-15 parts of sodium carbonate, 5-10 parts of sodium bicarbonate, 1-3 parts of a water reducer, and 30-40 parts of water; the cement is hydrated, hydrated calcium silicate and calcium hydroxide are generated after hydration, sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate are added into the hydrated base material, the sodium carbonate and the calcium hydroxide react to generate insoluble calcium carbonate, micropores in the base material are filled in situ, the base material is compacted, and then the system is subjected to heat preservation treatment, so that the heat preservation performance of the system is improved. Sodium bicarbonate is heated and decomposed to generate carbon dioxide gas, and the carbon dioxide gas can enter gaps due to high flowability of the gas, so that fine pores in the system are further filled, the defect void ratio in the system is reduced, and the impermeability of the base material is improved.
