The invention provides a waterproof agent used for an inorganic foam material and capable of improving waterproofness and durability and a preparation method of the waterproof agent. The waterproof agent for the inorganic foam material comprises components in parts by weight as follows: 10-20 parts of silicone oil, 5-10 parts of dodecanol, 5-10 parts of oleic acid, 0.5-1.5 parts of triethanolamine, 0.6-1.2 parts of tween-80, 0.4-0.8 parts of OP-10 and 60-80 parts of water. The waterproof agent for the inorganic foam material is an internal-doped waterproof agent, the waterproof agent added to a foam system can be selectively arranged on the surfaces of bubbles and form regular molecular structures so as to form a waterproof layer, and can form insoluble hydrophobic salt with calcium ions, magnesium ions, sodium ions, potassium ions and the like in the inorganic material to fill tiny pores between bubble walls and between the bubbles, the waterproof layer with good durability and good waterproof effect is formed finally, and a product with low water absorption and good durability is produced.
