The invention discloses an excavator breaking hammer protection control system and a control method thereof.The system comprises a working mechanism and a control mechanism, and the control mechanism is used for controlling the working mechanism; the working mechanism comprises a hydraulic oil tank, a hydraulic pump, a pilot pump and a breaking hammer, and oil in the hydraulic oil tank drives the breaking hammer to work through the hydraulic pump and the pilot pump; the control mechanism comprises a controller, a sensor assembly and a control valve assembly, the sensor assembly is used for detecting a pressure signal of the breaking hammer, the controller controls the control valve assembly according to the pressure signal of the breaking hammer, and the control valve assembly is used for controlling starting and stopping of the breaking hammer. Automatic control of the breaking hammer and the hydraulic oil cylinder is achieved through the controller according to the breaking hammer pressure signal detected by the sensor assembly, the damage risk caused by idle hitting and misoperation is avoided, and the system performance of the whole machine is improved.
