The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a multilayer ceramic broadband radome by thermally spraying a coating material on the radome. The assembled structure exhibits a tuned RF transparency response according to the thickness and dielectric constant of the deposited layer. Submicron-thickness ceramic layers, which are necessary for broadband performance but are difficult to produce due to their frangible properties, can be deposited on large composite objects by a rapid and automated process.
