A highway accident early warning system disclosed by the present invention comprises a transmission control line and a plurality of node devices, the transmission control line comprises a power supply positive electrode line, a power supply negative electrode line and a control line, and each node device comprises an emergency switch, a diode, a protection resistor or a protection circuit and a light emitting unit. The emergency switch, the protection resistor or the protection circuit and the light-emitting unit are sequentially connected in series and then are connected between the positive electrode line and the negative electrode line of the power supply; the positive electrode of the diode is connected between the emergency switch and the protection resistor or the protection circuit through a control line; and the negative electrode of the diode is connected between the emergency switch and the protection resistor or the protection circuit of the adjacent node equipment in the vehicle coming direction through a control line. After a vehicle has an accident or a fault, a driver and passengers evacuate to the roadside and press down the emergency switch on the adjacent node equipment, so that the light-emitting units in a certain range (about 150-200 meters) in the coming direction of the vehicle can be lightened, and early warning and avoidance reminding can be provided for other vehicles running normally.
